Panduit- Opti-Core® Indoor Distribution Interlocking Armored Fiber Cable

PANDUIT FIBER OPTIC CABLE OPTI-CORE® INDOOR DISTRIBUTION INTERLOCKING ARMORED

FEATURES

  • Crush‑resistant interlocking armor

  • Aluminum interlocking armor protects fibers without needing inner conduit—ideal for riser/backbone paths and harsh environments.

  • High‑speed laser‑optimized fiber

  • Supports OM3, OM4, OM5 and OS2 singlemode fibers, enabling up to 10 Gb/s performance over modern networks.

SPECIFICATIONS

  • Fiber count: 6–144

  • Jacket: PVC or PVDF, riser (OFCR) or plenum (OFCP) rated

  • Tensile strength (≤12 fibers): 667 N install / 200 N long-term

  • Crush-resistance: 250 lb/in (440 N/cm)

  • Bend radius: 4.7 in (120 mm) long-term riser, 9.4 in (240 mm) installation

  • Temp range: –40 °C to +75 °C operating

  • Attenuation: ≤0.7 dB/km (OS2 @1310 nm), ≤3.5 dB/km (OM3/OM4 @850 nm)

PANDUIT FIBER OPTIC CABLE OPTI-CORE® INDOOR/OUTDOOR ARMORED LOOSE TUBE CABLE (48–144 FIBERS)

FEATURES

  • Steel‑taped armor for direct burial

  • Steel corrugated armor makes this cable rodent-resistant and suitable for tunnels, subways, and outdoor‑indoor environments.

  • Flame‑retardant and low‑smoke jacket

  • Meets EuroClass Cca/B2ca, IEC flame and smoke standards, and features gel-filled water blocking.

SPECIFICATIONS

  • Fiber count: 48, 72, 96, 144

  • Fiber types: OS2 or OM4

  • Central strength: FRP rod; armor: 0.155 mm corrugated steel

  • Operating temp: –40 °C to +60 °C

  • Attenuation: ≤0.5 dB/km (OS2 @1310/1550 nm); ≤3.0 dB/km (OM4 @850 nm)

PANDUIT FIBER OPTIC CABLE OPTI-CORE® INDOOR/OUTDOOR TIGHT BUFFERED ARMORED CABLE

FEATURES

  • Tight-Buffered Fibers for Direct Connectorization

  • Instead of loose tube, fibers are tight-buffered (e.g., 900 µm buffer) to allow direct connector termination in indoor zones or patch panels without the need for intermediate breakout modules.

  • Armored Protection for Harsh Environments

  • Incorporates a metallic armor (e.g. corrugated steel tape or aluminum interlock) around the buffer or jacket, giving resistance to crush, rodents, and mechanical damage.

  • Indoor / Outdoor Usability with Flame Safety

  • Designed to traverse from outside to inside, the outer jacket is flame-retardant and low smoke (LSZH or equivalent) to comply with indoor fire codes.

  • Dry Water-Blocking Construction

  • Likely uses dry water-blocking (no gel) or swellable fillers to block moisture ingress while simplifying preparation.

SPECIFICATIONS

  • Fiber Count Options: Likely in multiples (4, 6, 12, etc.) in tight-buffered tubes or bundles

  • Buffer Type: 900 µm tight-buffer

  • Jacket Material / Color: LSZH or flame-rated jacket (black) for OSP, possibly indoor-rated inner jacket

  • Armor Type: Corrugated steel tape, or aluminum interlock

  • Bend Radius (installation / permanent): ~20 × OD (installation), ~10 × OD (permanent)

  • Tensile Load (long / short): Dependent on armoring and buffer construction

  • Crush Resistance: High, per armored cable standards

  • Temperature Range: –30 °C to +70 °C (or similar)

  • Optical Performance: For singlemode, typical ≤ 0.4 dB/km @ 1310 nm, ≤ 0.3 dB/km @ 1550 nm

  • Standards / Compliance: IEC 60794, UL, flame / fire standards, etc.
